The Adelie Penguins are endangered

Easy Blog Photo
We read an article with Mr. M today about an iceberg blocking penguins from open water and getting food. The Adelie penguins are endangered. The Penguins have to walk 120 km to open water. A lot of penguins have died over the journey. An iceberg that is as big as Rome blocked the place where they would dive in to get food. This made me change my thinking again to natural habitat. I'm on the natural habitat side and on the captivity side. I'm on the natural habitat side because they need food and the cold. I'm on the captivity side because their natural habitat is killing them and Mr. or Mrs. Popper could run to the store for food. So I'm on both sides. It's hard to decide. My class finished Mr. Popper's Penguins a few weeks ago. It was a really good book it was the best book ever. At the end, Mr. Popper has to made a big choice.  He might give the Penguins to Mr. Klein or give them to Admiral Drake. Mr. Klein who was going to take the Penguins to Hollywood and Admiral Drake will take them to the North Pole. Mr.Popper made the decision he was going to the North Pole and Mr. Popper decided to go with him. There are many hard choices.

Trapped Adelie Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
My class is done with reading Mr. Popper's Penguins and it was really good. With Mr. M, we read an article and watched a video about Adelie penguin's natural habitat being effected by an iceberg. These penguins are dying. So that made me change my thinking to that they should live in captivity because there could be people who could go and help them and save them. If penguins lived in captivity, a person could just go to the store and get food for them like shrimp or fish instead of those penguins waddling over 120 km to get food so I just think that people could go to the store and get food for them. So that is my idea! Now I'm going on to my talking about the end off the story about Mr. Poppers Penguins they went to take the Penguins to Antartica. And that's All!!!!!!!!

The Big Iceberg

Easy Blog Photo
Oh no!  Adelie penguins are almost are extinct. There were 150,000 now there are 10,000, isn't that horrible? The are having a hard time getting to their food. Adelie penguins are the smallest penguins in the world and they have to travel 70 miles to get food. There was a really big iceberg. The iceberg was as big as Rome. Rome is in Italy and it is big! That is really big. I'm really sad that they are almost extinct.

The Adelie Penguins Are Endangered

Easy Blog Photo
The Adelie penguins are endangered. The penguins have to walk 120km just to get food. A lot of the penguins have died on the long journey. An iceberg has hit their natural habitat and it has made it impossible for them to get into the water and to get food. 150,000 penguins have died over the journey to be exact. At the end of the book I put my thinking closer to natural habitat. But now that I have seen and heard about this iceberg effecting the penguins, I don't think they should be in their natural habitat and they should be in a zoo. This book was so good and it was very fun and funny to read. I think Mrs. Popper, Mr. Popper, Janie and Bill are all really silly. I loved this book. The hard part is thinking about the terrible things happening in their natural habitat.

Iceberg Shifts

We finally finished reading Mr. Poppers Penguins. Mr. Popper brought the penguins back to their natural habitat. I think It was the good thing to do. Because now the Penguins are free. But it can be dangerous for Penguins to be free. A giant iceberg shifted in 2010 and now Penguins have to travel 120 km just to get some food! This crisis turned a penguin colony from 160,000 penguins to 10,000 penguins! The species of penguins who suffered this is the Adelie penguins. I hope the number of penguins goes up soon and they start to be able to get food easier. I also hope that somebody helps the penguins very soon because penguins are one of my favorite animals. There's lots of people who's favorite animal is the penguin too. I think we can save the Adelie Penguins if lots of people help the Adelie penguins get their food and help them through this terrible time.

Making A Tough Decision

Easy Blog Photo
In 2015 there was in announcement that 150,000 Adelie penguins had died after a super sized iceberg the size of Rome blocked the water source to the Penguins. The Penguins in Mr. Popper's Penguins are the Adelie Penguins. In my last post I switched from captivity to natural habitat on our Tug of War because of the climate in jail was not right for the penguins. But now I'm having a tug toward captivity. The reason why I think that I should change back to captivity is because of what happened to all the penguins in their natural habitat, so this is really confusing me because I've already changed my thinking twice. I think that I should change it back because of what happened in real life. That's why I think I should change it.

Adelie Almost Extinct

Easy Blog Photo
Adelie Almost Extinct!  At the end of the book, my thinking was more toward captivity because they were pretty happy with Mr. Popper. We read an article about an iceberg the size of Rome that recently shifted and blocked a penguin colony from open water. It made it hard for the penguins to find food. It also makes it hard for the penguins to find food for their babies. Now, they them travel 120 km.! 140,000 penguins have died! After reading this article, my thinking did not change because they would have easier access to food. I hope you liked my blog!

Almost Extinct

Easy Blog Photo
Before I do my post it's really sad that 150,000 penguins died and they will have to waddle 120km to open water. Back to Tug-Of-War, as you know I was on the side of captivity for Tug-Of-War...I am switching to Natural Habitat so the Penguins can roam free. At the end of Mr. Popper's Penguins the Penguins went back to their own home. That's probably the best thing to do. But I could be half and half with Tug-Of-War. Thing's can happen like icebergs shifting and soon they could be extinct. At first when we where about in the middle of Mr. Popper's Penguins I thought they should stay in captivity but after we finished the book I thought they should go back to Natural Habitat. That iceberg was there for 5 years! Scientists predict that the penguin colony could be gone by 2026. That's 20 years! What can we do?

The HUGE Decision...

Easy Blog Photo
My class has finished Mr.Poppers penguins this is what I think... In Mr.Poppers penguins at the end Mr.Popper gave the penguins to The Admiral Drake and put them back into their Natural Habitat,Antarctica. The Poppers were very sad to see the penguins go but they knew it was for the best. Mr.Popper also decided to go to Antarctica to say the last goodbye to the Popper Penguins. All of the Poppers sincerely missed the penguins. ... 150'000 Penguins Killed In 2011 a giant iceberg that had shifted and left 160,000 Adelie penguins landlocked. The Adelie penguins have to walk 120km (240 mi) just to get food! From that the population has gone down A LOT! In 2011 there was 160,000 and now the population is 10,000 witch isn't far from extinction. Scientists predict that the Adelie species will be extinct in 20 years. This is what has made me stuck in Tug-Of-War. I'm assuming that the reason the iceberg shifted is because the pollution that was melting the ice that caused the iceberg to move. But in captivity the pollution would be worse. In Mr. Poppers penguins the penguins were kept in captivity and Captain Cook almost died but the 150,000 died in their natural habitat so I do not know where to put myself in Tug-a Of-War. Right now I am thinking to put my thinking in the middle but more towards natural habitat even though more penguins died in their natural habitat that was because of us because we are driving so much.

My Thinking Has Changed AGAIN!

Easy Blog Photo
My thinking has changed to captivity, again, because a really REALLY big iceberg moved and penguins have to abandon their eggs. The chicks freeze to death and are being abandoned by their mom and dad. We need to HELP these endangered birds. The numbers of the birds that didn't make it to food is 150,000 Adelie. What can you do?

Big Decision

The Adelie penguins are in big trouble because of an iceberg that is the size of Rome and it killed 150,000 Adelie penguins and if the iceberg doesn't melt away then all of the Adelie penguins will be gone. The iceberg has been there since 2011 and it is 2016 now. Scientists think that in 2036 Adelie penguins will be extinct . We need to try to help them or they will all die and we can't let that happen.

Adelie Penguins Might Be Extinct!

Easy Blog Photo
OH NO! Adelie penguins are endangered! There colony got landlocked by an iceberg in 2011.The penguins can't get any fish, shrimp,or any food! This is very very bad.An article was posted in 2015 by Bonnie Malkin all about this crazy problem. If we did this on our tug-of-war wall I would SO put mine in captivity. So many penguins died. The amount of penguins before this happened was 160,000.But now it's only 10,000! That is a lot of penguins that have died over 6 years.Oh,and these are the same kind of penguins that were in the book Mr.Poppers Penguins. At the end of the book they eventually got out of jail. And the penguins all went back to Antarctica with Mr.Popper and The Admiral Drake. So they went back to they're natural habitat. But the penguins in Antarctica right now have to travel 50 c.l just to get some food.that is a very long way.But now the penguins are dieing,in there natural habitat! And there young chicks are freezing. Most of them died.Like I said before, SOOOOOO captivity. This is a very bad problem that someone needs to fix.Adelie penguins will probably be extinct in about 2026 if now one fixes this terrible terrible problem.AND WE LOVE ADELIE PENGUINS RIGHT?WE NEED TO SAVE THEM!OR ELSE THE'LL ALL BE GONE!for....good....We'll,that's all I have for today.Well BYE!-

ICEBERG KILLS PENGUINS

2016 An iceberg kills over 150,000 Adelie penguins! SOON NO PENGUINS will EXIST that means no penguins at zoos. SO PLEASE SAVE THE PENGUINS! My class and I are Begging you please follow me to save the penguins. Thank you for your cooperation. Goodbye everyone. By Matthew and my class.

Can We Help The Penguins From This Extinction

Easy Blog Photo
THE ADÈLIÉ PENGUINS ARE DYING FROM A 1,000 FOOT ICEBERG BECAUSE IT BLOCKS THE WATER THAT THEY CATCH FOOD IN AND THEY MIGHT STARVE!!!! SOON THEY WILL BE EXTINCT BY 2020. CAN WE HELP!? 150,000 PENGUINS DIE AFTER ICEBERG COLONY LANDLOCKED article by Bonnie Malkin. We also finished Mr. Popper and most everybody chose natural habitat but ... Now I think penguins should have better care wherever they live. No matter natural habitat or captivity. I am hoping the penguins do NOT BECOME EXTINCT. I've been changing my thinking from time to time because I have no idea what's going to happen and I can never decide what to choose it's like choosing the impossible. I think the penguins are best in captivity until the iceberg is dislodged. But my final decision is captivity TEMPORARILY. That is all the news I have right now till next time, bye!

OH NO JAIL TIME!!!!!!!

Easy Blog Photo
Ok, now Mr. Popper and his penguins are in jail! Now the penguins are in jail because one penguin and Mr. Swenson seal were playing together on stage! And they weren't supposed to! Mr. Swenson called the police because it was his theater. Now they are in jail and are hungry and overheating and it's not good. I moved my pin to natural habitat. The penguins are overheating and it's not good. There was a picture in the book that the penguins and Mr. Popper were in there cell. Two penguins were even hiding under Mr. Popper's feet. Mr.Popper was sitting depressed on the cold, hard bed. The penguins looked sick like VERY sick! Imagine if you were one of the penguins, you would be very sick, and very ill, and most importantly very very sad. So of course I moved mine to natural habitat. Most people did anyway. Well, I can't wait to read the rest of the book! I am SO exited to read more and write more and make more blogs of my thinking. Well, on till next time, bye!!! :D

Thinking Is Changing

Easy Blog Photo
I think that the Penguins should be in there natural habitat because right now they are in jail and they are pretty hot. Also, they don't have much money right now they are really depressed. It's really dull in jail right now. Mr. Popper can not cheer them up. Mrs. Popper can not afford to get them out of jail.

Mr. Popper's Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
It's to hot and they are not in there natural habitat. It's to hot because they can't afford ice, food and water. And they are in jail. "Thursday, and the birds began to droop."

Mr.Poppers Penguins

I haven't changed my thinking since last time. I still think the Penguins should go back to their natural habitat because Mr. Popper got sent to jail and the penguins went with him. Now the penguins are getting sick. To get out he has to pay one thousand seven hundred dollars. Right now Admiral Drake is visiting his jail cell.

Poppers Cell

Easy Blog Photo
In the book the poppers are in jail and it was not their fault! It was theater boss and he was not very nice. That boss sent them to jail. That is just cold! I think they should be in the natural habitat.

Popper's Penguins

Right now we are near the end of Mr.Popper's penguin. I will tell you about Mr.Popper's penguins. Right now Mr.Popper is in jail. His penguins are not happy at all. To get Mr. Popper and his penguins out of jail Mr.Popper's family needs to pay five hundred dollars and a hundred dollars for each penguin. Right now in the story I think the penguins should be in natural habitat.

Mr.Popper Crashed

Easy Blog Photo
Tug-Of-War I have kept my thinking in the same place. Natural Habitat. My last blog was about how Mr.Popper got his penguins, who he was,his family, what he did for living and why my thinking is in the natural habitat. From last time Mr.Popper is in jail. How you might ask well this is how... Last time the Popper were in Boston. They saw all of the other acts but did not perform. After they performed they went to New York to perform at Royal Theater and stayed at the Tower Hotel looking over Central Park. Next they unpacked and went to sleep. Mr.Popper did not get much sleep. That's when he made a huge mistake! The next day the Poppers an their performing got in a cab and Mr. Popper said "This is right from the book" Regal Theater". The taxi driver said "Ok". They got to the theater a little while later. They went inside and saw the act on stage. Seals! They went to the dressing room to get ready and saw the seals in there. Mrs. Popper told Bill and Janie to get the cops and the firemen. Mr. Popper was sorting out the problem with the seals. The firemen and policemen got all suited up and ready and then went to the dressing room expecting a fire but no all they saw was seals and penguins with the seals ready to attack. They all laughed. The firemen out their hats on the penguins and the policemen put their hats on the seals. Then Mr. Popper and the theater manager and the manager went crazy. Then after awhile they sorted it out and Mr. Popper said "This is right from the book" Mr.Greenbaum is paying us 5,000 dollars a week and the manager said this is not Mr.Greenbaums theater. Then the manager said "arrest this man for parading in my theater. Then they took him to the station and put him and the penguins in a holding cell. Him and the penguins are not doing well. The penguins are getting very hot and sick. That's where we stopped! :)

A Decision to Make

Easy Blog Photo
I read that Mr. Popper is making a decision about were the penguins are going. I think that the penguins should go to the North Pole so that they are not hot and irritable. If they stay with the Poppers they will be hot and irritable. Also, they are running out of money to pay for ice. This will help them keep their money.

The Only Solution

Easy Blog Photo
The only solution is for Mr. Popper to give up the penguins to Admiral Drake...in my opinion of course.

Choose Popper Choose

Easy Blog Photo
Mr. Popper has to choose between putting the penguins in a movie or take them to the North Pole or keep the penguins. We do not know what he is going to choose.  Next week we will know. I think he is going to choose to keep the penguins at 432 Proudfoot Ave. Stay tuned for more information about the Poppers and the Penguins. He chose...

Through A Dilemma Of Mr. Popper

Easy Blog Photo
Mr. Popper has a HUGE PROBLEM, which is whether he is going to keep the penguins, or leave them with the Admiral, or put them in show business. I think he might just keep them with the sliver of money he has... Now this did take us quite a while to think of . We thought about it at school and especially overnight. That's only my opinion that he should keep the penguins... But I think you can possibly trust the Admiral to take them to the Arctic. Although with the Penguins in captivity they could have a better chance of becoming sick so, I am kind of in the middle of what Mr. Popper should do... Till next time Bye!!!

Mr.Popper Has A Dilemma

Easy Blog Photo
In Mr.Popper there is two ways for Mr.Popper to go he can either send the penguins to the North Pole or keep them. But I think that it is a bad idea to send the penguins to the North Pole because of the polar bears and stuff the penguins are not used to being with all the other animals.

Mr.Popper Has A Problem

Easy Blog Photo
Mr. Popper has a big problem AND HAS NOT A CLUE HOW TO SOLVE IT. So we are going to talk through it. So here is the problem after the tour Mr. Popper was put in jail but after a while Admiral Drake payed to get him out. NOW here's the problem Admiral Drake tells Mr. Popper he will take the penguins to the Arctic and start a new penguin race or the Poppers can sign a contract to let the penguins in a movie. Personally I think it's a good idea to sign the contract so the penguins can stay with Mr.Popper.

Ginger Begrudgingly

Easy Blog Photo
I read that Mr. Popper has a decision to make. Mr. Popper is trying to decide whether to send the penguins to the North Pole, stay with the Poppers, or send the penguins to make a movie themselves. I think Mr. Popper is going to go to the Arctic with the penguins because Mr. Popper loves them so much and doesn't want to leave them.

Poppers Performing Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
Mr. Popper should bring the Penguins to the North Pole or the South Pole because things are growing worse and worse every day for Mr. Popper because of the penguin food and ice Mr. Popper has to pay for.

Popper Penguin Dilemma

Easy Blog Photo
Mr. Popper has a dilemma crisis, he has to decide between Admiral Drake taking the penguins to the North Pole to breed or sign a contract with the Colasall Film company to start movies with Mr. Poppers Penguins or keep the penguins. I think he should start working with the Colassal Film Company because they will get more than 5,000 dollars a week. That's what I think he should do . BYE!!!!

The Penguins Are Getting Hot

Mr. Popper should send the penguins back to Antarctica because spring is coming and its getting very hot. Mr. Popper got in jail and Admiral Drake came and got him out, he said that he had a long story to tell. When Mr. Popper was in jail he looked haggard. Mr. Popper got in trouble with the manager because they went to the wrong theater. That is why he's in jail.

Tug Of War and Mr. Popper's Penguins

Right now at school we are thinking about Mr. Popper's Penguins. Right now I am in the middle of the board because I think the birds might get lonely in their natural habitat. The title of our thinking is Tug of War. We have this board in our third grade classes because we wanted to have a different way of thinking about Mr. Popper's Penguins. Our thinking is changing throughout the book. There are two sides of thinking about if animals are better kept in their natural habitat or in captivity. We have been moving our clips from the captivity side from the middle and to the natural habitat side depending on what we have read. We all have ideas on what will happen. The last part we read was the penguins and Mr. Popper went to jail because Mr. Popper did not get enough sleep trying to keep the penguins cold so instead of saying "Royal" he said "Regal" so when they got to the Regal Theatre the Swenson's Performing Seals were there and Mr. Swenson got angry because the Popper's Performing Penguins were there. We are in big trouble. Bye guys!!

Our class is reading Mr. Popper's

Penguins and we had a tug of thinking and there are two sides, they are Captivity and Natural Habitat. I choose the middle because Mr. Popper keeps the penguins safe and in the South Pole it's colder. But it might be dangerous. The penguins are hot and irritable and Mr. Popper got in jail. The reason why he got in jail is because he went to the Regal Theatre instead of the Royal. He messed up big because the seals were there and the penguins were in trouble.

Through The Lens of Mr. Popper: Thinking

Easy Blog Photo
Hi. Today I'm talking about my thinking on the subject of Mr.Poppers Penguins. There are two sides of thinking captivity or natural habitat. We had to choose one side and I choose captivity. We had to put one word why we wanted it there, and my word was... family. My thinking might still change though, there is a possibility that it will change because Mr. Popper is in jail with the penguins but with the saving of Admiral Drake they got out. That is why I could have ALMOST changed my thinking. But they both caught my eye in so many ways I still can't decide... That's all for now, Bye!

Mr. Popper Tug-of-war

Easy Blog Photo
I am on the natural habitat side. I think this because Mr. Popper can not afford to care for the penguins anymore even though the Poppers are making a lot of money. They have to spend it all on travel, care, and food. Mr. Popper accidentally went to the wrong theatre and got arrested and so did the penguins. In their cell they sat quietly and it is becoming spring, and the penguins are getting irritable in jail without the ice to keep them cold. The penguins are getting a little bit homesick because they are traveling all over the country. The penguins are getting a little bit of fresh air through a little window. The penguins would get a lot more fresh air in their natural habitat. So that's my thinking about Mr. Poppers penguins!

Penguin Thinking

Easy Blog Photo
Hi today I'm going to tell you about my thinking about Mr. Popper and the penguins. At first my clip was closer to captivity because the penguins were happy with Mr.Popper. But as I read on my thinking changed. I am in natural habitat now. I'm going to tell you why I am there. The penguins are getting tired and every thing is getting to expensive even though the Poppers are getting paid a lot of money. The Poppers are losing their money because they need to pay for fresh fish sent in from the coast and paying for big ice chunks to be brought up to the Popper's hotel rooms. Finally I'm going to tell you what my conclusion is. I am on the Natural Habitat side my sticky note says "Spring is coming".

Mr.Popper Tug War

Easy Blog Photo
I'm pulled to the natural habitat side of tug of war because the penguins are getting hot and hard to manage. The penguins are also getting home sick. Also, Mr. Popper got put in jail so the penguins were too warm. For example, even the young penguins were hot. Admiral Drake came in the nick of time to get Mr. Popper and his penguins out of jail. The proof that the penguins are getting hot is that they look sloppy and look sleepy all the time. This is page 125.

Natural Habitat

Easy Blog Photo
I am on the natural habitat side because in Mr. Popper's Penguins the penguins are getting harder to manage because they are going on the road so much. The penguins are getting irritable and hot. On page 125 it shows that the penguins are getting a mess.

Dinner?

Easy Blog Photo
I am tugged to the natural habitat side on our Tug of War because Mr. Popper's penguins are getting hot and irritable. The penguins got into a fight with Swenson Seals. Mr. Popper was worried that the penguins would get eaten by the Swenson Seals.

Tug Of War

Easy Blog Photo
I'm pulled to the natural habitat side because it is getting to expensive for Mr. Popper to keep the penguins because the ice is expensive. The travel is really expensive with all the cabs and trains. Mr. Popper went to jail and he doesn't want to go back. And the Penguins are getting hot and spring is coming so it's going to be hotter.

Tug Of War

I am tugged toward the natural habitat side because it is getting too hot outside for the penguins. Mr. Popper has not enough money, it is getting too expensive to buy ice and to feed the Penguins and to travel and to take taxies all over town. When they were in jail, this is what they looked like. All for now.

Thinking About Mr. Popper

Easy Blog Photo
Thinking about reading Mr. Popper's Penguins, makes me think I should be more on the natural habitat side. Mr. Popper and the Penguins were in jail trapped so they should have the Penguins in their natural habitat. Mr. Popper and the Penguins themselves will not get in trouble.

The GREAT DEBATE Of Mr.Popper!! 👀

Easy Blog Photo
I just changed my mind about animals living in captivity or in their natural habitat. I decided to be on the captivity side instead of the national habitat side because of the Penguins bond with the Poppers. Speaking of which Mr Popper trained the Penguins, bet you didn't know that? They've become very good friends and teammates working together.

Think About Mr. Popper

Easy Blog Photo
I am thinking of Mr. Popper because in the book it will be April and the Penguins are getting warm. They have to stay cold and the penguins are getting irritable because they are in jail. We are all worried that the Penguins might die. This was a tug toward animals better in their natural habitat.

Natural Habitat

Easy Blog Photo
I put my name by natural habitat because the penguins would be safer in Antarctica and the South Pole. I put my pin there because there is lots of dangerous stuff in the city like oil and cars that could run over the Penguins where Mr. Popper lives. In the book, I read that the penguins were walking to a show. When they were going to their show, they could have been hit by a car. So that is why I think that animals should live in their natural habitat.

Mr. Penguin

Easy Blog Photo
I chose natural habitat because if penguins live in the city, they are more likely to get hit by cars. Where they live, in the Arctic region, they would be less likely to get hit by a car. Earlier in the book, Captain Cook was getting sick because he didn't have a penguin friend. This pulls me more toward natural habitat because they would live with their family in the Arctic.

Mr. Popper's Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
I put my name on the natural habitat side of the board because I think the Penguins should be free. For example, one of the Penguins got sick because the weather was too hot for him. And it is not safe for the Penguins because they could run away and get hit by a car.

Tug-Of-War With Mr Poppers Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
Tug-Of-War is a board for your thoughts of Mr. Poppers Penguins. About a month ago we started reading Mr. Poppers Penguins. In Tug-Of-War the third grade decides if you think the Penguins in the book should be in captivity or their natural habitat at the North Pole. I put the penguins in the natural habitat because... In the book Mr. Popper is a house painter with two children. Bill and Janie and one wife and they live on 459 Proudfoot Ave. in Stillwater. Mr. Popper is very interested in penguins because he has never been out of Stillwater. Mr. Popper sent a letter to Admiral Drake and did not tell his wife or children. Admiral Drake who is an Antarctic explorer very interested in penguins and the Antarctic environment. Admiral Drake also reports his findings at the Antarctic. One day Admiral Drake called out to Mr. Popper and he said (this is right from the book). "This is Admiral Drake speaking. Hello, mamma Hello, papa. Hello, Mr. Popper up there in Stillwater. Thanks for your nice letter about the pictures about the last expedition. Watch for an answer. But not be letter. Watch for a surprise. Signing off. Signing off." Then a few days later Mr.Popper got a surprise. A penguin! Then the penguin hopped out of the box! Then they had to give him a name Captain Cook. Then a few weeks later Captain Cook got very sick. They went to a penguin specialist and he said that Captain Cook was sad and sick because he needed someone to love. Then they brought another penguin home they named it Greta. Then a few weeks later they had eggs but more than normal. Then a little bit later the eggs hatched. They had 10 baby penguins they named them:  Nelson, Columbus, Louisa, Jenny, Scott, Magellan, Adelina, Isabella, Ferdinand and Victoria. Then they figured out they had very good talents. Then they saw how good they were they decided they should bring them to the circus because they were very low on money. They bought them to the circus. The man who ran the circus Mr. Greenbaum did not care for the penguins. Then he noticed that their starting act would not show up so he chose the penguins to do the starting act and it was their first time doing the show in front of people. They did the act and everyone loved it. So he offered them to the circus. He said he'd pay them 5,000 dollars a week. The Poppers said yes! He said the next act would be in Seattle. So they went there and watched all the acts and that's where we stopped! I picked Natural Habitat because everyone was freaking out about the penguins back at Stillwater. But today I am going to change my pin to captivity because everyone at the circus liked them.

Me and Mr. Popper

Easy Blog Photo
I put my name near captivity because the penguins are very happy at Mr. Popper's house. They are happy in the book because they get to play together and with the Poppers and they seem very happy. I think it's a great book. I think everyone is enjoying the book because everyone laughs together and it seems very funny. I think it's a good book to read this year. The parts we have gotten through are really good and cute. I can't wait to see what happens next!!

Popper's Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
I chose to put my name near captivity because they are safer there with Mr. Popper. In the beginning of the book Mr.Popper wished that he could go on one of the polar expeditions. Then Admiral Drake called Mr.Popper and said you will have a package coming. After about a week a big wooden box came it was very big. Mr. Popper was very surprised. On the box was written "From Admiral Drake". Mr. Popper got his tools and opened the big wooden box. A penguin jumped out of the big wooden box and the penguin ran into the house.

Changing My Thinking

Easy Blog Photo
The tug of war board is a board we use at our school for changing our thinking. We are reading Mr. Popper's Penguins in our classroom and that's what the board is about. There are two sides on the board: one is to let the penguins free, and the other is to keep them in captivity. I used to think that the penguins should be let into their home but then I thought they were happier in the Popper's home. I hope you liked my blog post.

#Penguins

Easy Blog Photo
We started reading Mr.Popper's Penguins about a month ago and then ...we started Tug-a-War. There are two sides. We choose which side we are on for the penguins. One side is captivity and the other s natural habitat. l chose captivity. Maybe I will switch soon but will play it by ear.

Mr Poppers Penguin

Easy Blog Photo
About a month ago my class started reading Mr .Poppers penguins. I placed my pin closer to captivity because Mr .Popper would be sad if the Penguins left because Mr. Popper likes reading about the Arctic and South Pole so and he really likes the Penguins.
